Please Note: These are guidelines to help you get the most out of your session, not requirements.

2 days prior to your session:

  • We recommend you consume water containing and alkalising drinks such as almond milk, juice, lemon juice, coconut water, herbal tea) and foods such as spinach, kale, cucumber, broccoli. This will help to assist in breaking up toxic matter in your system.
  • Drink fresh pressed vegetable juices on an empty stomach (not with your meals or immediately after).
  • Improve your detoxification process by simply incorporating a leafy green salad before all your cooked meals.
  • Eat as many water containing vegetables as possible. Choose cucumber, celery, lettuce, spinach, avocado, tomato, carrots, sprouts, and radish.
  • Avoid oil heavy dressings. Instead use lemon/lime juice, fire tonic, a small amount of macadamia nut oil, pine nuts or sunflower seeds, or avocado.
  • Refrain from raw broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage as they can be gas forming, you can have these lightly steamed. Roasted vegetables including pumpkin and sweet potato can be added to salads. Avoid processed/packaged foods, eggs, gluten, animal protein, dairy, alcohol and anything carbonated (i.e. soda, seltzer, sparkling water).

2 hours prior to session:

  • Refrain from eating to avoid a full stomach. If you are hungry or your blood sugar is low then please eat a snack before coming in for your session.

  • Avoid caffeine.

1 hour prior to session:

  • Refrain from drinking to avoid a full bladder on the table. You will be a lot more comfortable.

15 minutes prior to session:

  • Start relaxing and letting go of the stress of the day. Know that you are coming in for a wonderful therapeutic experience and life is about to get better.

Clothing Suggestions:

  • As you will be disrobing from the waist down, please wear something comfortable from the waste up.

What to Expect After My Colonic Treatment

Most clients experience a sense of lightness, feelings of happiness, joy and freeness that they have never had before. Describing it as “a feeling like a big weight had been lifted from their body” and “ a heightened mental, emotional and physical clarity”.  Although most clients feel high levels of energy, some however may experience transient effects of the toxins being stirred up. This process is called a “Healing Crisis”.

The symptoms may include: aches, pains, headaches, nausea, fatigue, hunger, feelings of sadness, anger, bloating, hives, skin eruptions ect. These symptoms are all natural responses to the healing process and will pass. Drinking plenty of water helps to flush the system of toxins. It is very important NOT to suppress these symptoms with over the counter or western medicines. Please allow your body to heal itself!!! This is part of the whole process of regenerating and shedding the very things that made your body sick to begin with.

Please note: The most common post colonic experience is a slight delay in bowel movements and then a resumption of somewhat larger, easier to move stool. Sometimes if the colon is weak and sluggish, there may be no bowel movement for several days after the colonic. This is not due to the colonic, but rather to the weakness of the muscles in the colon and indicates that the colon requires strengthening and healing, thus more treatments.

Home Remedies

For simple remedies that can be done at home that assist with the healing process, please partake in as many of these healthy practices as possible:

Take Pro-biotic supplements

This is the perfect time to plant “friendly flora” back into to the digestive tract. It is also beneficial in minimizing any “healing crisis” which may occur. Most pro-biotic products on the market don’t cut it, read the label. Make sure it is dairy-free, refrigerated, which is crucial in order to withstand the digestion process.

Dry skin brushing

To help stimulate the lymphatic system. Use a natural bristle brush only. Brush on dry skin, always in the direction towards the heart chakra. This is very helpful to get the skin breathing and should be done for the first several days after the colonic. Great for cellulite too!!

Drink lemon water

This helps make the body more alkaline. Squeeze a half of lemon in a cup of warm water, add one teaspoon of manuka honey if you like.

Deep Breathing and Meditation

Liquid fasting

Try a 1 –3 day juice fast. It is very important to give your digestive system a rest and an all juice fast is the perfect way to recharge your system. Drink vegetable and fruit juice only for a minimum of 1-3 days. This will do wonders for your body.

Yoga and gentle exercise

Walking is wonderful. Get outside and breath in the fresh air. Go for a hike in the woods.

Self Massage of the abdomen

Be gentle with yourself, and remember the body heals itself at its own pace. Don’t rush the process. Love yourself, love your body and stay positive and focused.

Take the time to rest and relax: Take 15 minutes a day to be silent and let go of everything and everyone.
